It has almost been one month since moving into a much, much smaller apartment than where I was before, and even where I was before (only one 'much' in that case), and even before that (again, just one 'much'!).
In short, my new place is a bachelor pad, a studio apartment, or as our odd system in Quebec names apartment sizes, a 1.5 (one and a half).
Most of my stuff is here with me. I do still have stuff (personal belongings to be proper) at my parents place, but that is another story! Well, most of what I want/need/use regularly.
And placing it all in a small apartment makes it seem like a lot, even though compared to people living in a proper house, it really isn't that much. Yet, I do want to get rid of a lot of stuff. Some of it could be called clutter to me, some is stuff I just do not use often enough to warrant keeping; old video game consoles for instance.
Down the road I do want to have a home that gives me a sense of permanency. And I would like to have more stuff, but stuff I would actually use, for instance a fully stocked proper kitchen! Furthermore the aforementioned 'clutter' I would still like to get rid of. Certain lesser used stuff could be borderline (to have a game room with all my old consoles setup would be rad! Etc, etc.!).
So, to summarise, this is my blog to keep me motivated and document getting rid of plenty of stuff so wherever I go next, whenever (reminded of Shakira's Whenever Whereever! — disclaimer: as music is my number one passion, I may vary well have more music references in here! ) that will be, I want the move to be as easy as possible, and not transport stuff I do not need/want.
So join me on my 'less is more' journey, and we shall see where I am in one year from now!
